Give it a Go: Create a Comic Strip with Jaime

Ever wanted to create your own comic strip but didn’t know where to start?

In this beginner’s workshop Participants were shown how to create a comic strip. Cartoonist Jaime guided participants each step of the way as they create a character, set the scene, and develop their own one-page story.

Jaime Huxtable is a cartoonist and illustrator based in Worthing, West Sussex. He has illustrated comics on many subjects, ranging from Winston Churchill to the discovery of the iguanodon.

He recently worked on the George Orwell adaptation Such, Such Were the Joys: A Graphic Novel with writer Sean Michael Wilson, which was published last year by Pluto Press and supported through Arts Council England. His other work includes G Bear and JammoMakers of Monsters (with writer Mark Pembrey), and the supernatural crime series DROWSE (with writers Frank Verano and Nick Klinger).

This workshop was suitable for all ages (recommended age 8+), and all materials were provided. As with all of our Give it a Go workshops, this event was free to attend.
